More and more Chinese tourists travel to the Netherlands. In
2014, there were 250,000, 18 percent more than the year. Nowadays Chinese get
better financially and therefor they are more interested in the travel market.
For most of the Chinese travelers travelling is something new and they
experience it in a different way. Chinese people prefer to go on holiday in
large groups and want to enjoy their holidays all together.
In China when people think about the Netherlands, first
thing that comes up to their mind are the Delta works, a country which is below
sea level, tulips, windmills, gay marriage, Euthanasia and the tolerance for
sex drugs and abortion. They know that the Netherlands is a kingdom and one of
the most densely populated countries in the world.
The Chinese
who are traveling are hardworking wealthy Chinese people. The Chinese tourists
visits in the Netherlands the canals, the ramparts, the coffee shops, Anne
Frank House and the Rijksmuseum and the windmills (Zaanse Schans, Kinderdijk)
and Giethoorn. In France, the Eiffel Tower, wineries, casinos and lavender
fields. In Italy the tower of Pisa, Venice, Pompeii and the Coliseum.
Most Chinese tourists visit the Netherlands as part of a
trip in which they do Europe in nine days. The Chinese people usually get no
further than a round Amsterdam.
